ASI Employees and their family members were thrilled to be part of the ASI Halloween float. Each year, employees took time on their own to plan, design, and put together a float for both the Lansford Pumpkin Parade and the Tamaqua Halloween Parade. This year, the Pumpkin Parade was rained out and cancelled, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a great time in the Tamaqua parade.

The Tamaqua Halloween Parade was held the night of October 29th and participants were judged by the Tamaqua Lions Club. The following day, employees of ASI were notified they had won the “Best In Show” award for the second year of their participation. They have also won awards in previous years in both parades for their 2005 “Wizard of Oz” and 2007 “Grease” themes. “It is great to see such teamwork and dedication our employees have, all the while still having fun with these parades”, Angela Costello commented. This year’s $150 prize will go towards their budget for future Halloween parades.

Below is a video that one employee was able to capture of ASI performing at the judges booth. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!

The following is a story I sent out to coworkers about changes that we make in life…

Over the summer I attended a variety of events. A few brought me back to the old days, grade school and high school. I was reintroduced to a gal I went to third grade with when she said, “You haven’t changed”. Surprised a bit, I replied, “Really, at that time I was round and wore really big glasses and had really long black frizzy hair”. She insisted to beg to differ with me. Oh well, I guess I see myself different, a bit taller and wearing contact lenses and makeup, and that round part of me has shifted a bit.

I proceeded to meet up with two gentlemen, one whom I remember (’cause I ran into him last year and he blew me away with his changes - he is a doctor now) and he told me I looked better now than in high school; thanks (I think) Mike. (I have changed.)

The other had no clue who I was though. We went to high school together and were part of the graduating class of 1987. Tho’ I actually forgot him too, he had CHANGED. Boy, and for the better! He kept looking at me going, Monica? Really, Monica? I responded “Yes, but I am so embarrassed, you are who?” Ugh… he was Steve. “Steve from Lansford, from Marian High School, remember physics?” Thinking back, I finally recalled, “Um… oh my god yes!”

I also had the opportunity to meet up with my 4th grade teacher, who is now the principal from my grade school in Tamaqua. (We tailgated together at a Phillies game.) I walked up to her, took off my sunglasses and said “Mrs. M, do you remember me?” She said “Of course I do, you are Monica Akins.” A bit shocked that she recognized me, “How did you know?”. “You haven’t changed much, but I’d know that smile and that laugh.” I guess some things really don’t change.

Basically, when making the changes in life, are you making the right changes, ones that have a positive impact? Or are you focusing on changes that make it difficult for people to remember you? Most people will not tell you that you look worse than they remember. (Although some will; I’ve had that happen too.) What I like to think about other people is how I felt inside just from being around them. I can admit that I am a better person for knowing them! So, while taking on our daily tasks of changing, let’s look at those changes and what impact we choose to leave.

You look marvelous even inside out!

Thanks for reading…

On Friday, August 15, 2008 two representatives of ASI Employer Solutions attended the Annual Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association conference held at the Valley Forge Conference Center. This event was another way of getting out there to market our business. They were able to meet and greet with other businesses and professionals and were able to introduce some of the services and describe what may be beneficial to their small to mid-size businesses. At this event a drawing was available to win an iPod valued at $50. The winner drawn was Tanya M. located in NJ. Congrats to her.

Is your business faced with the daily challenges of finding new leads or contacts to grow your sales or customer base? Recent studies have shown that the age of “cold-calling” and “door-to-door” sales are almost a thing of the past. Business owners have grown to be either too “hands-on” with their business to actually have time to discuss new services or they are in the business “bunker”, embedded within the layers of Administrative Assistants, Managers and Vice Presidents. So where does that leave the aspiring salesperson trying to make a number for the month or satisfy a commission goal?

Here at ASI Employer Solutions (a division of All Staffing, Inc.), we take pride in the Client to Client relationships that develop over the years. We have learned that some of the best advertising and referrals start within your own client base, common sense right?

So what we have done is taken that “theory” and have developed two very effective programs from it. The Client Appreciation Program gives our current clients the opportunity to share their personal experiences dealing with ASI Employer Solutions with other businesses that they may encounter. If they refer one or more of those businesses to us and, in turn, those other businesses become clients, the client who referred the business would receive a one-time credit on their next invoice, anywhere from $200 - $500 dollars depending on the size of the business referred. This creates a direct, quality referral, which not only helps our sales strategy, but also creates the business to business connections within our client base. And not to mention a nice little credit on an invoice just for dropping a name!

The other program that was rolled out was the creation of the Ambassador Program. This program answered the question “So what if I’m not a client of ASI Employer Solutions, but know a few businesses that may benefi t from your services?” or “What if I don’t even own my own business but have some contacts?” In order to capitalize on some possible non-client sales leads, the Ambassador Program was developed, which works basically the same way as the Client Referral Program but pays the one-time fee out as a separate cash reward to the individual.

With both of these programs being utilized, we have stirred the interest of individuals and business owners, especially how the programs do not require any paperwork or fi eldwork other than completing a single referral sheet. Our challenge at ASI Employer Solutions is continuing to give our clients and contacts the confi dence to refer our services. Obviously we can’t expect referrals if we’re providing less than adequate service to our existing clients, so we make it a point to create a confi dence and pride that we can back. Especially the people that are helping us grow! Contact ASI Employer Solutions today for your referral sheet!
